Space does not allow complete articulation of Bev’s long time interest and personal accomplishments in art and specifically glass art. Bitten by the “Collecting Bug” in the 1960’s when she purchased a paperweight for a friend’s birthday, but then couldn’t part with it. Her collection now is almost 800 pieces of truly outstanding glass art representing artists recognized world wide.A long time resident of Virginia, Bev began to seriously pursue the craft of paperweights in 2000 and 2001 when she flew to Scotland to take week–long advanced master classes from William Manson in Perth. Bev began painting on glass in 2003 studying under famed glass painters Richard Millard and Kenneth Leap. Her work has been juried into and won awards in several shows as the Treasury Of Art show sponsored by the Vienna Art Society, the Stained Glass Window in Damascus, Maryland, and the prestigious Creative Crafts Council shows. |
